Khazen AthletiKare has the pleasure of training JB Marine Soccer Club's Team Kayser U-12 for a year-round training cycle commencing in July 2011.  The program is specifically designed for Team Kayser to accomplish goals for injury prevention (specifically for season-ending non-contact ACL tears, ankle sprains, and patellar tendinitis), and improvements in all components of soccer-specific fitness (i.e. coordination, balance & proprioception, cardiovascular fitness, strength, muscular endurance, power, speed, agility, quickness, and flexibility).  For more information on injury prevention in our youth athletes, go here.  Special attention is paid to instruction in hamstring recruitment, landing mechanics, and deceleration mechanics--all crucial in the prevention of non-contact ACL tears.  For more info on KAK's success in this field, go here.

Lori appreciates JB's enthusiasm, work ethic, and coachability--the most important components in a successful program!  If you have any questions, comments, or would like to submit a testimonial telling everyone about your experience with KAK for our website, please contact Lori.

Testing

It is crucial to do preseason, midseason, & postseason fitness testing for our athletes.  It provides baseline scores for each of our athletes so they & we know where they & we are starting from, and allows us to set goals based on those numbers.  Midseason testing keeps our progress on track and allows us to make adjustments where necessary, and postseason testing demonstrates the success of our training cycle.  Testing is also a great way for coaches to visualize the strengths & weaknesses of each athlete at the beginning, during, & at the end of each season.  These numbers are helpful in establishing a good team strategy and placement of players into proper positions on the field.  Testing is used to help motivate the athlete to train & reach goals set for fitness, so as to help keep them injury-free & enhance performance.  Comparison among team members in similar positions is helpful to see where an athlete lies in the team's depth chart, but aiming to better individual scores and reaching individual goals should be the main objective.

Here are testing results for JB Team Kayser for this training period:  Testing

Improvements in testing during this training cycle were EXCELLENT in all categories!  It is obvious that the Team Kayser has been dedicating both practice and pregame time to our strength & conditioning program.  Further dedication on non-practice days for the independent program will continue to push these improvements forward.  Many improvements can be attributed to technique advancement in acceleration, deceleration, and transitional movements, hereby making the athletes more efficient, and enhancing speed, quickness, agility, and speed endurance.  After all, if technique is improving, less physical & mental energy is expended, and can be placed elsewhere in the game (striking balls, tackling, 50/50 ball challenging, overall tactical field awareness & positioning, etc).  This all can translate to a more complete player, one that is more comfortable & confident on the field, and one that can better avoid injury, particularly of the non-contact variety!  Performance enhancement is an obvious added benefit that further pushes the cycle forward.

SC Program

We look forward to working with JB Marine throughout this entire upcoming year.  Lori from KAK has conducted SC sessions periodically throughout the pre- and in-seasons, as well as instructing coaches, players, and parents in the independent SC regimen.  It is crucial to do your homework, ladies!
